File capture (image, document, audio)

Problem:
While the respondent platform allows you to view images or files in a person's conversation history with the agent, the tool is not save such a file in the platform's database.
In other words, if a user shares a photo, it is not possible to save it for later use or processing.
Use case:
A possible use case is the following, in which the user is asked to take a photo of his identity document/ID card, so that the file can be sent via API to a text recognition service to extract the necessary data or recognized text from the photo.
In order to save the data (name, document number, nationality, etc.) in the database. that the trained recognition service captures) individually.
Desired solution:
In addition to saving the file in the conversation history, the value can also be saved in a contact variable and thus be stored in the database. The format could be a URL and thus the variable would contain the document's URL as a value of the URL of the document.
Example:
- Chatbot asks the user to share a photo
- Chatbot: Share the photo of your ID card
- Human: {Upload photo}
- Respond (Platform):
- Validates that the response is a file (image, archive, etc.)
- Converts the file to Url (saves the response or file on the server or shares the public URL of the address where the file is stored).
- Saves the public Url that was generated, in the contact variable with data type file.
- Chatbot: Thank you!

Hi Mario Mendoza, can we understand what would you use this feature for in your business? It would be great if you could share an example

Hi Yihui Chan, sure! I am building a solution for onboarding people through WhatsApp and other chat channels. I need very particular flow actions and trees that respond.io has. BUT, I need to ask for certain ID documents in the flow, then send those to my database to verify. Afterwards I will make an API call to my DB in order to check id the ID is valid and continue with the flow.

Workflows: Image and Audio File Handling

The new feature involves adding the capability to receive images or audio files within workflows, utilizing their URLs for use within the workflow. In some cases, automating the reception of certain images or audio files is required, and the ability to store them externally via HTTP is necessary.
