Business Problem:
  • Currently, WABAs that have a payment method attached (e.g., credit card billing) are unable to connect to Respond.io via Coexistence. As a result, businesses with their own payment method set up on Meta cannot complete the Coex connection, creating unnecessary friction.
Desired Outcome:
  • Allow Coex connection for WABAs that have an existing Meta payment method attached (such as a credit card). This would enable customers to connect their Business App number directly without being blocked by the current payment method setup.
Current Workaround:
  • Migrate to the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) directly, instead of connecting through the Coexistence flow
Important Note:
  • This restriction is due to a Meta platform limitation: Meta does not support transitioning from credit card billing to partner-managed line of credit for any WABAs.
