Starting July 2026, Contacts can adopt usernames to message your business without sharing their phone number.
What’s new:
- Automatic Contact identification:Respond.io identifies Contacts with their BSUID if there’s no phone number, so your business continues conversations as usual.
- Request phone number button:Let Contacts share their phone number directly in the conversation — available in Marketing and Utility message templates.
- Integration support:Webhook events and the Developer API now include BSUID, so your third-party integrations can map and sync Contacts even when no phone number is available.
